This fascinating map of the world shows political boundaries in bold color with the oceans covered in a network of routes showing distances between important cities. Surrounding the map is a collection of images that were "selected for their outstanding interest and importance by the United Press and the Columbia Broadcasting System." Events include Hitler's invasion of Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union's invasion of Finland, England and France entering war against Germany, and Pan-American Airlines initiating regular trans-Atlantic air service. A fascinating visual summary of the state of the world at the beginning of World War II.

The map is overall clean and bright. There is a 0.75" x 1.5" hole in the upper left portion of the sheet in the image depicting the end of the Spanish Civil War. If not for this imperfection, the map would be in A condition.
