This large and well engraved blue-backed chart centers on the Atlantic and depicts eastern North America, northern South America, western Europe, and northwestern Africa. It is filled with details including soundings, currents, hazards, trade winds, monsoons, notes on hurricanes and the Gulf Stream, and more. There are several views and four large insets, featuring Faial-Pico Channel, Horta and Porto Pim bays, Funchal Bay, and Bermuda. There is good information along each of the continents' coasts, but little inland detail. An additional panel at right includes a track chart, a magnetic chart, a tidal chart, and four charts detailing the winds by season. The lighthouses are marked in original hand color in red and yellow. On three joined sheets.
