This map was engraved by Domenico Rossetti as "described by Father Coronelli in Venice the year 1685." The map is nearly identical to Coronelli's version published in Atlante Veneto, but this example is 5 inches wider and has one additional figure to the left of the title cartouche. It is unclear whether this map was done in partnership or if this was an unauthorized copy. The map itself depicts the Gulf of Kotor with topographical features graphically depicted. The towns of Kotor and Castel Nuovo are shown with superb detail - right down to the location of individual houses. The large flourishing cartouche is engraved on a canvas held up by workmen while children play in the foreground. The chart is oriented with a beautiful and unusual compass rose with north to the upper left. Joined on two sheets.

Condition: B+
Issued folding on watermarked paper with faint discoloration where the two sheets were joined together. There is a small hole along the joint at top, closed by the joining of the two sheets, with minor loss of image. The joint is loose at bottom, but still quite stable, and there are two short fold separations in top blank margin. Light printer's ink reside and a few tiny spots.
