Finely engraved map centered on the mouth of the Ganges, and extending to all of India, Pakistan, Thailand, Ceylon, Siam, Laos, Cambodia, part of Tibet, and the Malay Peninsula. Extensive notes discuss the production of diamonds, gems, cinnamon, and pearls in the area. The decorative title cartouche features elephants and oriental rugs.

A dark impression on a mostly clean sheet that has been professionally backed with tissue to reinforce and repair several short fold separations in the image and numerous small cracks along the platemark outside of the map image. Remargined at top with about half of the border replaced in facsimile.
