This small, scarce map of the Americas was published in Louis-Joseph Mondhare's Atlas Generale a l'Usage des Colleges et Maisons d'Education.... It includes a more accurate depiction of the Pacific Northwest in the wake of Captain Cook's recent explorations of the region. Within the United States, New York, Virginia, la Caroline, two Floridas, Louisiana, and Nouveau Mexique are named. Baja California is labeled as Californie, and Mexico is Nouvelle Espagne. Several Indian tribes are identified out west. There are numerous place names in South America, especially along the coasts.
