This is an important modern edition in 10 volumes of the historic work by the "modest clergyman and patriotic chronicler of England's maritime achievements." Illustrated with photogravure plates from old prints, maps, charts and 64 drawings and decorations by Thomas Derrick. Richard Hakluyt's collection of voyages is one of the more famous works on Elizabethan history. Hardbound in green cloth with gilt lettering and ship designs on cover and spine, with a cordiform map on endpapers. Published by the Hakluyt Society, an organization founded in 1846 to publish primary narratives of various expeditions.
