This map of North America shows the United States border extending well into present-day British Columbia, reflecting U.S. interests in the region. Mexico is in control of the southwestern United States and Texas, and Alaska is labeled Amerique Russe. Much of the west is left blank or "inconnues" (unknown), but the L. Sale (Great Salt Lake) makes an early appearance. Just above the Great Salt Lake, a note states that Lake Timpanogos is doubtful. Decorated by a simple, oval cartouche.
