This attractive copper engraving includes four maps of islands in the North Atlantic on one sheet. Of particular interest is the depiction of a spurious "whirlpool" off the southern coast of Suouroy Island (Faroe Islands), which is also depicted in the map of the Faroe Islands at lower left. Mt. Hecla is depicted as an active volcano in the map of Iceland, and a note in the map of Greenland indicates "the coast is dangerous of access, because of floating and fixed mountains of ice."
