This attractive woodblock map of Tokyo is surrounded by 21 vignettes of important buildings, places within the city, and scenes of Japanese life. Included in these are a fishing scene, a Japanese train, and a horse-drawn rail car. Highly detailed, the map locates railroads, streets, and vast waterways in the downtown area. Locates the Imperial Palace, Ueno, Yoshiwara, Asakusa, Shintomiza, Yasukuni shrines, Shinbashi station, and more. Detailed street indexes are found to the left and right. The map self-folds into tan paper wrappers (3.5 x 6.7"). A beautiful work of art and Japanese craftsmanship worthy of any collection of Japanese maps.
