This is the first edition of this valuable reference for maps of America. It lists the maps in the Library of Congress' collection as of November 1897 - over 10,000 maps in total - organized by subject and chronology. Hardbound in burgundy cloth with gilt title on the spine. 1137pp.

Contents good with light toning, some manuscript notations in pencil, and tears to the pages especially near the front and back of the book, many of which have been closed with archival tape. There is light wear to the covers.
