This handsome map covers the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico with some particularly nice topographical detail. Plenty of towns, cities, ports, bays, and more are located. Several Creek Indian villages are identified in the southern part of the United States. Texas is named, and Florida is divided into East and West Florida. Venezuela is labeled New Govrt. of Cumana or New Andalusia. Thomson's publishing business prospered between 1813 and 1869. His maps are noted for their accuracy, strong impression and fine engraving.
