Centered on the Drava River, this boldly engraved map covers southern Austria, Slovenia, and parts of Italy, Croatia and Hungary, extending south to the Gulf of Venice. The map is based on Sanson's cartography and provides excellent information, both on the topography and hundreds of tiny villages. The title cartouche shows the double-headed eagle with two maidens representing the bounty of the land. The second title above the map is nearly identical to the title cartouche. Printed on two joined sheets, as issued.
