This small and uncommon world map was engraved by Nikolaus Hautt, whose signature does not appear on this edition. Despite the appearance of vague outlines of Australasia, the map's striking engraving style and general geographic layout are about fifty years out of date. The Pacific Northwest is a vast and sprawling landmass with the names Serra Novado and Quivira and no defined northern limit. There are no Great Lakes, and the origin of the Saint Lawrence River is located in a small lake in the Midwest. The mythical Parime Lacus is depicted in South America. Korea is an island. Across the bottom of the map, a massive and partially delineated Terra Incognita dominates.
