This tourist guide contains one view and two maps by Walton Van Loan. The Bird's-Eye View of the Catskill Mountains (18 x 9.4") shows very detailed topography with a three-dimensional appearance with towns, hotels and other places of interest labeled in red overprinting. The two maps of the region include Map of All Points of Interest Within Four Miles of the Catskill Mountain House (16.5 x 9") which shows topography, rivers, lakes, roads, property owners, and "Rip Van Winkle's House." The second is entitled Map of Greene Co. NY and portions of Ulster and Delaware... (15.1 x 12.7"). Various advertisements fill the versos of the view/maps. Includes the last 5 pages of text only (pp. 115-120) which consists of an article on geology by William M. Davis. Octavo, stiff pictorial paper wrappers.

The bird's-eye view and map of Greene County are clean, bright and near fine (A). The map of the vicinity of the Catskill Mountain House has small loss at top, including the top border (C+). Spine has been reinforced with binder's tape.
