Handsome example of this fine map of the historical county of Middlesex. It is fully engraved to show all the salient features of the county including market towns, forests, parks, hills and bridges, with a legend at bottom right. London is prominently shown at right. A strapwork title cartouche and compass rose adorn the map. Engraved by John Norden. Published in the 1637 edition of Camden's Britannia, with the addition of a plate number on the map.

A crisp impression on watermarked paper with two tiny worm holes in the image near the centerfold and several short worm tracks in the blank margins. There is light toning along the edges of the sheet and a few tiny edge tears.
