This uncommon and striking lot depicts the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The map of the Northern Hemisphere includes two tables detailing the various climates and a parallel sphere. Tables of latitudes with meridians and parallels appear outside the map of the Southern Hemisphere. Terre de Diemen is attached to the Australian mainland, and there is a partial outline of Terre de Sandwich to the southeast of South America. Both maps include numerous place names. Nice impressions on watermarked sheets with minor offsetting. The Northern Hemisphere sheet has a printer's crease at bottom, and the Southern Hemisphere sheet has a centerfold separation at bottom that has been closed with archival tape.
