This lot consists of two anonymous bird's-eye plans of Gibraltar including:

A. A Most Accurate & Exact Plan of the Town & Bay of Gibraltar with the Approaches and Batteries of the Spaniards at Their Siege in 1727, dated 1728 (10.7 x 9.8"). Centered on the Bay of Gibraltar, the map provides two reference tables related to the Spanish approaches as well as key sites within the town. Decorated by an elaborate strapwork title cartouche. Condition: Issued folding on watermarked paper with pleasant light toning. (A)

B. Plan of the Town and Fortifications of Gibraltar with All the New Works, from London Magazine, published 1762 (10.8 x 5.8"). This sheet contains a small plan at top with a key to 23 important locations. Below the plan is a view showing the imposing Rock of Gibraltar. Ref: Jolly LOND-218. Condition: Issued folding with toning, light soiling, and an edge tear at left that just passes the neatline that has been closed on verso with archival tape. (B)
