This map of the continent provides a very detailed view along the coastline, with numerous towns and capes noted, and the topography and river system is well depicted. While there is an evolving understanding of the kingdoms and tribes in the interior, the Nile River is still shown as originating from two adjacent lakes in Central Africa. A pair of gold mines are located in southern Africa, and a tribe of "men eaters" are identified to the north of Lake Victoria. Decorated by an elegant title cartouche. This map is seemingly rare with only two dealers listings in the last 30 years.
