This copper-engraved map covers southern Africa from Gabon and Kenya to South Africa. Madagascar, Comoros, and numerous other islands in the Indian Ocean are also depicted. Gold and silver mines are located in the interior, with topography and forests represented pictorially. A note near the Cape of Good Hope states "Here the Dutch have a Settlement to supley [sic] Ships with water and Provision."
