This nicely engraved map covers from the Carolines south to New Zealand and from New Guinea and eastern Australia east to Pitcairn Island. The coastlines of both New Guinea and New Zealand are left incomplete. Numerous small islands are named in the region's various archipelagos. There is a decorative title cartouche at bottom right that features native sailing vessels, with the title appearing on a sail. Prepared by Giraldon and engraved by J.B. Tardieu.

Condition: B+
A nice impression with a couple very faint spots and a short edge tear at bottom that just touches the neatline and has been repaired with old paper on recto. This old paper covers the neatline and engraver signature at bottom left, although both are visible beneath the paper.
