A. The Quarterly Journal of the Library of Congress - Volume 36 / Number 3 / Summer 1979, by Frederick Mohr, published 1979, printed color (7.9 x 10.3"). This issue includes "Aborted American Atlases" by Walter Ristow and three articles about city plans of Washington, D.C.: "The Delineation of a Grand Plan" by Richard Stephenson; "Artistry as Design: L'Enfant's Extraordinary City" by J.L. Sibley Jennings, Jr.; and "Mapping the Nation's Capital: The Surveyor's Office, 1791-1818" by Ralph Ehrenberg. It includes several illustrations, many in color. 143 pp with illustrated paper covers. Condition: Contents very good with the title page a bit loose. Covers have faint soiling and spine has minor wear. (B+)

B. Maps and Views of Washington and District of Columbia, by P. Lee Phillips, published 1996, black & white (6.4 x 9.3"). Phillips' germinal list of maps and views from the collection in the Library of Congress is still important and useful despite being originally created over 100 years ago. It was a cartographical as well as a bibliographical report. The slim volume contains information on maps and views from 1782 to 1900. This reprint, edited by Francis J. Manasek, was only slightly modified by making grammatical corrections to the text from the original. An excellent reference for Washington, D.C. enthusiasts. 8vo. Original hardbound in black cloth with gilt title on spine. Condition: A hint of wear, otherwise fine. (A)

C. Address on the History of the Boundaries of the State of Delaware, by Hon. John W. Houston, published 1879, black & white (6.0 x 9.1"). This fascinating book presents Judge Houston's paper on the history of Delaware's boundaries as delivered to the Historical Society of Delaware in February 1878. 108 pp. Paperback. Condition: Contents are very good with minor toning. Covers are sunned along the edges with some tears along the spine. (B+)
