This map of the state boldly advertises the Butte County Bank located in Belle Fourche on the western border of the state. The bank was made famous for its attempted robbery by the Sundance Kid, Kid Curry and other members of the Hole-In-The-Wall Gang, on June 28, 1897. The bank survived the event, and this map was published circa 1910. The circa date is based upon the addition of Harding and Perkins counties in the northwestern part of the state (1908) coupled with Ziebach not yet formed from Armstrong (1911). Folds into red paper wrappers (3 x 5").
