This is a later edition of this striking map of the state of Wisconsin, published by Charles Desilver in 1856. County configuration is current to 1855, with Wood and Burnett counties not yet formed. Railroads, stagecoach roads, canals, and more are delineated. Northernmost development includes the huge counties like Oconto, Marathon, Chippewa, and La Pointe.
