This is a simplified and smaller version of Jodocus Hondius' map of Brazil from 1630, with north oriented to the right. Detail is confined to the coasts with numerous place names, while a strapwork cartouche fills the interior. Engraved by Petrus Kaerius (Pieter van den Keere). German text on verso.

Nice impression and color on watermarked paper with light show-through of text on verso and foxing confined to the blank margins and top border.
