This uncommon and intricately engraved plan of Karlsruhe in southwest Germany was published by Georg Nicolaus Fischer and engraved by Johann Baptist Haas. The city's unusual fan-like configuration, with the streets radiating from the central Karlsruhe Palace, is highlighted here. Dense forest surrounds the city on three sides, with a massive park identified as Fasanerie u Hirsch Parck to the east of the city. A key running along the bottom identifies 49 notable locations, including several gardens and churches. The plan is additionally embellished by a coat-of-arms, compass rose, and distance scale.

A fine impression on a sturdy, watermarked sheet with a few minor spots. In the blank margins there is light soiling and some short edge tears that have been closed on verso with archival material.
