This superb bird's-eye view of Rome presents the city on seven hills in remarkable detail, right down to the streets, churches, houses, gardens, piazzas, bridges, and gates. A description of the city appears at right along with a small inset plan showing the seven hills. At left are views of seven important buildings in Rome, as well as the fourteen coats of arms and a key to the corresponding city divisions. The map is handsomely embellished with a large coat of arms flanked by allegorical figures, and a scene of river gods surrounding a fountain and Roman ruins.

A nice example with minor soiling, a few light creases, and several tiny worm holes only visible when held to light. There are professional repairs to a tiny hole in the image and a centerfold separation that enters 1" into image at bottom. A previous owner's stamp appears in bottom blank margin.
