A handsome map of the Mediterranean islands, the larger map depicting Crete and three smaller maps of Corsica, the Ionian Islands, and Sardinia. Ortelius compiled the map from both classical and contemporary sources, including Strabo and Plinius. Strapwork cartouches, a ship and sea monsters ornament the map. Latin text on verso.

Condition: A

Full original color on paper with Ortelius' common coat of arms watermark. There is a hint of offsetting and toning and marginal soiling.
