Scarce woodblock map covering the Eastern Mediterranean showing the area traveled by Saint Paul. Major cities dominate the map and the islands are exaggerated in size. Several sea monsters lurk in the patterned seas, which give the appearance of waves or currents. The typesetting was inset separately into the wood blocks, resulting in variations between different editions. This example is from a rare Swedish edition published by Gutterwitz circa 1588, with Swedish text on verso.

Professionally restored and backed in tissue. There are a number of repaired tears in the map, primarily along the centerfold at top and in the bottom left corner, and the map has been remargined at top and bottom with partial loss of title above map. A large chip at right, entering between 1-2" into image at right has been replaced with the leafcasting method, with the image skillfully reinstated in facsimile.
