Nice map of the continent conforming to the geography typical of the late 17th century but showing places as known to the ancients. The Nile appears according to the ancient pattern, arising from two large lakes complete with large islands. Panels of French text surround the map on three sides. Sheet size measures 19.2 x 14.6" with French text.

Condition: A

A dark impression with moderate printer's ink residue, issued folding on paper with a Strasbourg bend and lily watermark. There are a couple of minor extraneous creases at top right and light toning along the top and bottom edges of the sheet.
