These two maps (of three) come from Timothy Dwight's 4-volume "Travels; in New-England and New-York..." which was published in the early 19th century based on his travels over the previous several decades. Dwight was a minister, theologian, educator, author, and the eighth president of Yale College from 1795 to 1817. In honor of Yale College, Dwight selected Yale as the prime meridian in the three maps that accompanied his work. The maps included, all engraved by George Gillet, are:
A. Map of the State of New York..., dated 1823 (11.8 x 11.5"). Condition: Faint scattered foxing and offsetting with several short fold separations.
B. Map of the Southern Part of New England..., dated 1821 (13.6 x 11.0"). Condition: Light offsetting with faint scattered foxing.
