This attractive double hemispheric world map is decorated by a central floral title cartouche. In North America, a speculative River of the West is shown flowing from Pikes Lake above New Albion, and the United States is confined to east of the Mississippi River. In Australia, a huge New South Wales stretches across the entire east coast of New Holland from Van Diemens Land (still attached) to the Cape York Peninsula. There are only a few clues suggesting Antarctica's existence including Bouvet's Cape Circumcision and a small Terra Australis. Published by Thomas & Andrews.
