A. Sketch F No. 6 Showing the Proposed Site of a Beacon on Rebecca Shoal Florida Reef, by U.S. Coast Survey, dated 1851, hand color (7.6 x 7.1"). This small chart by F.H. Gerdes centers on the Rebecca Shoal, located in between the Dry Tortugas and Marquesas Keys. There are depth soundings, reefs, and a note underneath the Quicksands that reads "an extensive and very dangerous bank." Condition: Clean, bright, fine. (A+)
B. North West Entrance. Key West Harbor, Fla. Surveyed June 5 to 22, 1895..., by U.S. Corps of Engineers, dated 1895, black & white (13.6 x 13.3"). This chart of an entrance to Key West Harbor contains dense navigational detail, including depth soundings, lights, and a jetty. It includes a profile view of the jetty at top left. Condition: Issued folding with one fold separation confined to the bottom blank margin that has been closed on verso with archival tape. (A)
