A beautifully engraved decorative map of the whole of France based on the work of Jean Jolivet. This richly engraved map is filled with topographical features and numerous cities. The large strapwork cartouche contains text, and a coat of arms is displayed in the stipple engraved sea. Latin text on verso.

Condition: A

A crisp, early impression on paper with Ortelius' common crossed arrows watermark. There are faint damp stains in top corners, marginal soiling, and professional repairs to short centerfold separations at top and bottom and to a short tear in top blank margin.
