A. Islands in the Pacific Ocean, by W. & A.K. Johnston, from National Atlas, circa 1844 (24.3 x 19.6"). A detailed map of the Pacific Ocean identifying countless islands. The map includes the majority of Australia and North America, and parts of Asia and South America. Detail is confined to the coastlines with the exception of several mountain ranges depicted inland in the Americas. Condition: A mostly clean and crisp example with light toning along sheet edges. B. The Pacific Ocean, by SDUK Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, dated 1840 (15.6 x 12.5"). A smaller but similar map to the above focused on the Pacific. Extends to include most of Australia and North America. Enclosed by a keyboard border. Published by Chapman & Hall. Condition: Light toning and a few spots of foxing. (B+)
