This map covers the region from Rockland To Bar Harbor and north to Ellsworth. Its primary emphasis is the network of ferry routes as well as a few railroads in the vicinity. Published by the passenger department of the Boston & Maine Railroad, no doubt in hopes of expanding ridership to this region popular with tourists. Of regional interest, much of Mount Desert Island would become Acadia National Park in 1916.
