This charming tiny map of Southeast Asia covers from the misshapen Indian subcontinent through to the coastline of Americae pars and a part of Nova Guinea. The mythical Chiamai lacus in China spawns three major rivers and a city named Toleman sits on its shores. Bucelin's maps in his Praecipuarum Universi were copperplate engravings based on the Ortelius miniature maps. His atlas contained 30 maps and was published by Johann Praetorius and Johann Gorlinus in 1658 and 1664. Bucelin's maps are very scarce. Blank verso.
