This little map focuses on the Spice Islands and the important trade capitals of the region. It covers the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Sincapura is depicted as an overly large island at the tip of Malaysia. The west coast of New Guinea is exaggerated and the southern coastline of Java (Iava Maior) is shown only by a dotted line. From the English edition of Mercator's Atlas Minor, which was published under the title Historia Mundi or Mercators Atlas by Michael Spark and Samuel Cartwright. English text on verso.
