A most uncommon issue that details plans for water improvements along the south shore of the lake. Features include the New Canal with lighthouse, the proposed Lafayette R.R., the Jefferson & Lake Pontchartrain R.R., Bayou St. John with breakwater and lighthouse, and more. The Pontchartrain R.R. and its planned breakwater and lighthouse are shown and detailed in section plans: "Cross-Section of Breakwater & Fender" and "Plan of Breakwater."
