It was published in the rare English (Stockdale) edition of The American Geography by Jedidiah Morse, the first compendium of U.S. state and territory maps. The map exhibits an extensive road system well inland from the coast at this very early date. Engraved by J. Roper, with Stockdale's imprint at bottom center: "Published July 12, 1794, by J. Stockdale." Only two sales of this map by a dealer or auction house have been located.
