Uncommon German map of the southern United States, Mexico and Central America with the independent Republic of Texas shown in its smaller configuration. Mexico is divided into states and territories, which are listed in a table at bottom left. The map is filled with Indian names and some interesting spurious topography, and includes a list of mountains. Texas is stated in the legend as comprising an area of 8,000 square miles, with a total population of more than 100,000.
