This uncommon, early map includes parts of China and Southeast Asia, extending from Hong Kong to much of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The cities of Macao (Hong Kong) and Kecio ou Tumkin (Hanoi) are prominently shown, and a number of other smaller cities fill the coastline. A fortified wall near the border of Vietnam and China is also depicted. The map is based on information derived from Jesuit missions in the East. Engraved by Jean Somer, who engraved several maps of China and Southeast Asia for Nicolas Sanson and Pierre Mariette.
