This delicately engraved map shows New Zealand divided into counties, which were established in 1876 and lasted until 1989, when they were reorganized into regions and districts. The counties of both North and South Island are listed at left. A large inset map depicts Tasmania, also divided into counties. A small inset shows the relation between Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.
