This atlas contains 46 double-page maps including the world (2), Europe (21), Asia (8), Africa (4), Americas (8), and Australia (3). Of particular interest are The World in Hemispheres and New Zealand that includes an interesting vignette of the "Southern Alps of New Zealand From the Central Moraine of the Godley Glacier. " The maps are printed on one-side only and bound on tabs in the atlas. Each map is surrounded by a decorative keyboard-style border and delicate coloring. Hardbound in quarter leather and tips over red cloth with gilt title on front cover and spine.

The maps are good to very good with light toning, light color offsetting, and several minor fold separations that have been repaired on verso with archival materials. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown, and the extremities are moderately worn.
