This lot includes three books on the history of exploration, all of them extensively illustrated with hundreds of color maps, drawings, and photographs.
A. The Explorers from the Ancient World to the Present, by Paolo Novaresio, published 1996 (10.3 x 14.3"). Hardbound on green cloth with gilt titles on front cover and spine and an illustrated dust jacket. 305 pp. Condition: Like new with very minor shelf wear to dust jacket and covers. (A)
B. The Encyclopedia of Discovery and Exploration - The Last Frontiers, by Thayer Willis, Geoffrey Hindley, and Carl Proujan, published 1973 (7.6 x 10.5"). Hardbound in blue cloth with gilt explorer on the front cover and gilt tiles on the spine. 488 pp. Condition: Contents near fine. Contents have light shelf wear and a couple small scuffs. (B+)
C. The World Atlas of Exploration, by Eric Newby, published 1982 (9.3 x 11.8"). Hardbound in green cloth with gilt title on the spine and an illustrated dust jacket. 287 pp. Condition: Contents tight. Covers have negligible shelf wear. Dust jacket is price clipped. (A)
