This report represents one of only a handful of reports on the geology of Georgia prepared by J.W. Spencer while serving as Professor of Geology at the University of Georgia and later, as State Geologist of Georgia. Spencer is best known for his extensive writings on the origins of the Great Lakes. First edition, bound in salmon-colored wrappers. 86 pages, 2 figures, 3 photographic plates and folding color geological map entitled Geological Map along the Macon & Birmingham Railway (21.2 x 5.6"). A seldom offered report.
