A table at top right shows statistics from the 1850 Census including population, principal cities, crops, and livestock. The map is embellished with a decorative floral border and the engraved vignette "Maidens Rock, Lake Pepin on the Mississippi." Published in Colton's Western Tourist and Emigrant's Guide including 149 pages of informative text and 36 pages of advertisements for the Colton firm. Hardbound in brown cloth (4.0 x 6.0") with gilt title and illustrations on front cover.
