A well rendered bird's-eye view of the island with numerous sailing ships, decorative cartouche with putti, sunrise and towering clouds on the horizon. A compass rose, orienting the view with north at bottom, and rhumb lines appear to be placed on the ocean surface in 3-D perspective. The island was an important re-fueling stop for ships in the South Atlantic providing fresh water, fruit and meat to the early explorers.
