This lovely bird's-eye plan of Gouda shows the city surrounded by water, with the Ijssel River at bottom right. The city's 15th century town hall is shown in the center, adjacent to the large Gothic Sint Janskerk. A numbered key identifies over 30 locations, and the plan is embellished with the arms of the counts of Holland and the city of Gouda. The plan was copied from Braun & Hogenberg's similar plan. A crack in the plate is visible at bottom right.
