Decorative map of the Spanish region of Catalonia that covers the Mediterranean coastline from the French border via Barcelona to Tortosa. The splendid, allegorical cartouche at right shows Perseus about to decapitate the fearsome Medusa, and a figure representing Catalonia is kneeling before a monarch, to illustrate the surrender of Catalonia to Felipe V of Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession.

Light toning with a 1" centerfold separation at bottom that has been partially closed on verso with linen tape and old paper. There are a few minor edge tears confined to the blank margins and two light tape stains confined to the top blank margin.
