Handsome map of the coastal region of Slovenia and Croatia based on the cartography of Johann Sambucus (1572) and Hirschvogel (1565). It is filled with mountains, forests and hundreds of tiny villages and decorated with a strapwork title cartouche. This is the third state, with French text on verso. Two cracks in the plate are visible at far left.

A nice impression on a clean, bright sheet bearing the horn watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is a faint manuscript page number below the neatline at right.
